Abstract:In this paper, compared are the travel behaviour and attitudes of two different nationalities of undergraduate students from China and the United Kingdom (U.K). There are found some similarities between the two groups: Both enjoyed beach holidays, placing importance on having fun and relaxing after the studies, both were motivated to discover somewhere new and preferred to have the local food of the destination. Yet, there are found significant differences: The Chinese students considered more important seeing the famous sights and learning about other cultures and history, whereas the British ones were more concerned to have fun, to socialise and enjoy the challenges of outdoor adventures. These differences were found existing in both male and female student groups. It is discussed the extent to which these differences could be explained by cultural factors, by market factors or by the students' previous travelling experience.
