Abstract: | A combined, revealed and stated preference approach is developed to identify discrete choice demand parameters with unobserved determinants of choice. This approach avoids difficulties linked with small choice sets, multicollinearity, and endogeneity arising with revealed preference approaches. In order to illustrate the framework, two Canadian moose hunting datasets are revisited. The results suggest the potential gains from fusing revealed and stated preference data. Yet, they also suggest its limitations with differing data sources. |
