| Abstract: | A review of time overruns and cost increases for a multistage industrial development contract compared to where stages were procured by a package deal, with a calculation for all stages of a contract to measure the building delivery on contract performance. Reference is made to the construction period, tender price and general standard of performance set by the industry. Identical competitive tendering procedures and contracts were used. The author opines that a marked difference occurs concerning the identity of the party to the contract who bears the risk. Two Tables on construction stages, and contract performance are given. |
