Abstract: | There are seven characteristics of a planning system: its emphasis on creativity and control, reliance on analysis, attention to resource audit, effort at environmental scanning, functional coverage, resources for planning, resistance to planning within a firm. The study contains the result of a survey based on 111 questionnaires. Main problems were: external and internal fits of a planning system, evaluating the importance of fits. It became clear that there is a lack of concern of both corporate offices and planners for tailoring the system. |
