Abstract: | Pay-offs of chosen strategies are discussed. Implementation is described as a period of high risk. General rules for the implementation of strategy are examined and found to be elusive. The problem of the strategy-structure fit is analysed. Goal-setting is discussed as one the most important and least evolved areas. Organizational and political problems of the goal-setting function are highlighted. Strategy associated risks are analysed. The catalyst role of management is emphasized. Performance appraisal is discussed as a means of communication. Organizational procedures forming important guards against individual deviation from courses of action are examined. |
