| Abstract: | Declining organizations frequently, sometimes necessarily, reduce their work force. A hierarchy of work force reduction strategies is introduced and a series of propositions focusing on organizational and environmental variables that influence the managerial choice of work force reduction strategies are described. In a hierarchical dependent variable variation there are five levels of strategies for reducing the work force. |
