Abstract:Authors of articles on management are often professionals who had been educated in natural sciences, the methods of which are usually unsuitable to solve management problems and to build up management models. A number of research methods are dealt with /interviews, questionnaires, sample taking, different methods of statistical inquiry and analysis etc./ Some errors made by inappropriate use of these methods are described and illustrated. Correlation for example rarely represents causal relationships. From correlation links among three or four variables one can rarely draw valid conclusions. Residuals are often seen as random errors, but they can represent unknown independent variables as well.
