| Abstract: | Earlier study comparing reward allocation preferences across countries using data from the United States, Japan, and South Korea is replicated. Students participated in an experiment through which the study is attempted to be replicated in different national settings. The emerging most important general conclusion is that the equity norm, according to which, rewards are distributed to group members based on their contributions, is generalizable across countries. Additionally, a stronger tendency for groups to use an equity norm in allocating rewards is found in the United States and Japan, countries identified as high in individualism. |
