Abstract:Increasing internationalisation is a clear trend on the business scene. First it concerned the large firm sector (multinationals), but nowadays, with the completion by 1992 of the internal market of the EEC it is increasingly felt by SME's too. The abolishing of national trade barriers creates a new competitive situation what SMEs should meet by entering co-operation contracts with foreign firms. This strategy has new requirements against management of SMEs: risk-taking, psychic openness towards alien cultures, foreign languages, higher educational level etc.
