Abstract:Current USA law provides several tracks along which a domestic firm may claim for protection from import competition. Sequence of the parts of countervailing or antidumping cases in the USA is presented, relevant time limits are listed, country coverage of cases is summarized. Developing countries and some important partners of the USA as well as developing countries were often hit. The number of antidumping and countervailing duty cases were nearly the same. A larger share of cases against developing countries comes to restrictive outcomes. Outcomes are analyzed, motives for petition are listed. Direct evidence that injury is what the unfair trade screening process is really about, is provided.
