| Abstract: | Factory automation can make production smoother, faster, and more cost-effective. Its implementation is the key to realizing these benefits. There is hope that CIM (computer-integrated manufacturing), coupled with HIM (human-integrated manufacturing) will help a company become the least-cost producer. Allocating the resources of a factory to maximize profits or productivity is one of the cornerstones of the automated factory. The factory of the future demand tight control over the resources of the plant. Management must be sure that factory automation will bring the required internal return on investment. |
