Abstract: | Ever increasing level of integration of the european and world economy is the main reason behind the growth in the number of (first of all international) business alliances of the Slovenian enterprises. The goal of these alliances is primarily to strengthen the partners where they are weak and to make the best use of their comparative advantages.Based on authors experience and insight in the field of teleinformatics, the article presents four crucial steps in building and maintaining a successful business alliance: the preparatory work, choosing the partner and building the alliance, how lo maintain it and finally - how to evaluate it and in case of need - how to terminate it.Key success factors for making an alliance a success are analysed with some emphasis given on so called "soft factors", such as corporate culture. The need to be better prepared and more self-confident in the future processes of building business alliances is stressed and reinforced with a sketch of some of slovenian comparative advantages in the field of teleinformatics. |
