| Abstract: | The paper comments on the proposal `Responsibility for the Future' by the German Social Democrats which presents views on the future of the European Union. The paper considers the supporters of the proposals and provides the information on the section of the proposal that contains an outline of a federal constitution for the EU. The paper also pays an attention to the reactions from Great Britain and France. The paper covers the following subjects: general progress, economic and monetary union, biotechnology and border controls, company law, consumer protection, employment, energy, financial services, freedom of establishment, free movement of goods, taxation and transport. |
