Abstract:This article questions if one integrated safety culture (henceforth as: sf-clt./sf-clts.) is more beneficial for safety in high risk organizations than several sf-clts., or if it is perhaps the other way around. Sf-clts. are specified as shared frames of reference (here as: fs-of-rf). Based on 44 semi-structured interviews with employees and managers on an off-shore platform in the North Sea, three fs-of-rf. are identified. One of these fs-of-rf. culturally dominates among the interviewees, representing an example of an integrated (as: igrtd.) sf-clt. on the platform. It is argued that the formal, igrtd. sf-clt. directs attention to human errors, thereby involving cultural ignorance to hazards and signals of danger as to the cultural and organizational factors etc. (original in Norwegian)
