Abstract:This paper aims to understand how individuals place importance on human rights when they make decisions to purchase, work, invest or support socially responsible organizations. The study is based on a survey among final year undergraduate and postgraduate students in Russia and Bulgaria. The findings suggest a significant correlation between individuals' sensitivity towards human rights and their perceptions of the significance of corporate social responsibility in decision making. Especially, the recognition of political rights has outstanding influence on individuals' decisions. The study also shows differences between the Russian and Bulgarian samples.
