Abstract:Communities in Pudong New District are of various kinds and developing in diversified ways, The urbanized community belt covers an area of 32.96 square kilometers, making up 6.4 percent of the total size of the district. In the west of the district distribution along the Huang pu River is becoming a local feature. There is also the suburbanized belt of communities-organized towns spread over rural areas. They have changed a lot under the traditional influence of construction of the old districts of the city and development zones. What characterizes the New District is its late development, huge potential, coexistence of dual models of urban and rural areas motivation of coordinated development of non-planned zones by focused development of planned zones.
