| Abstract: | The model of East Asian economic integration is to realise free trade area, including reduction and concession of tariff and-tariff barriers, keeping every country's own tariff structure, practising the principle of "open regionalism" and implementing the plan of free trade area step by step in terms of the contents and course of the model. It has both positive and negative influence on China. It will stabilise the sources of import and export markets , help establish China's leading position in East Asian economy and ease trade friction between China and its trade partners, and enable China to join in WTO smoothly and implement conveniently China's own foreign economic policy. But China's young industries will be faced with great external pressure due to 5 years ahead of the deadline for realising trade and investment liberalisation. |
