Abstract: | Companies don't get much bigger, more global or more diverse than Unilever, the multinational consumer products giant with more than 100 subsidiary companies in 90 countries. Its product line spans the market from culinary products like Knorr, Ben & Jerry's and Hellmann's Mayonnaise to personal products including Dove, Rexona and Calvin Klein fragrance. Unilever is the world's leading supplier of ice cream, margarine, and tea- based drinks. Not surprisingly, Unilever's treasury handles more volume than many nations: In 2001, Unilever's internal foreign exchange services included more than 5,600 contracts with a total volume of EUR 3.7 billion, and intercompany lending topped EUR 18.5 billion. |
