Abstract:The European commission is going to investigate restrictions on foreign ownership of TV channels in Europe. At the moment France, Spain and Ireland for example have 25% foreign ownership limit. Most EC countries have some sort of restrictions on foreign ownership, which could distort fair competition. The commission considers on the basis of a 'green paper' what actions, if any, it should take to ensure free competition.
