Abstract:The financing of the United Nations, one way or another, has been under constant evaluation and discussion since its early years. The organization has been forced by some of its member-states to live in a sort of permanent financial emergency which does not allow its effective operation. Ensuring an adequate financial basis for the organization in today's open world has become a question of commitment and self-respect. The United Nations can do no more than its members will allow it to do.
