Abstract:The author states that our increasing dependence on technology is changing the way we perceive and manage assets, and creating valuable new assets that demand active control and management, rather than simple administration and monitoring. The list of assets a business could potentially choose to manage is as long as the proverbial piece of string. Although specific assets vary from business to business, there are common areas: people and their expertise, and information technology and infrastructure - and they're as significant as they are difficult to manage. The paper is divided into the following sections: 1) Networking; 2) Catch 22; 3) Love bytes; 4) Indecent exposure.
