| Abstract: | Workplaces and workhabits that do not adequately for the human need to unwind periodically create stress, erode physical and mental health, and lower productivity. They also increase the likelihood of accidents, injury, harassment, discrimination, absenteeism and turnover. Whatever the causes, the fact remains that prolonged stress, burnout and violence have found their way through the workplace door, and the results are clearly being felt. HR professionals must learn to recognize and combat these types of environments. |
