Abstract: | Stakeholders desire information about the performance of socially responsible corporations that frequently does not match the information they are given, particularly in environmental matters. A responsible corporation needs to evaluate the relevance of what it communicates, and then devise ways to close this communications gap. Specifically, corporations should consider using environmental annual reports to communicate with their stakeholders, especially institutional investors. Such open, progressive dialogue will foster corporate/stakeholder partnerships, working toward a better, cleaner world. |
