Abstract:The Social Issues in Management Division has had a long history of research into various aspects of governmental influences on business. Under a stakeholder (hereafter as: s-h./s-hs.) theory of capitalism, governments will matter less than they have in the past as s-h. principles are implemented throughout the corporate world. This article will examine the nature of this claim by discussing problems with the implementation of s-h. theory and examining the role of public policy in the society.
