| Abstract: | This article deals with foreign exchange problems of Chinese-foreign joint ventures. On the one hand joint ventures in China are forced by law to balance their foreign exchange accounts. On the other hand, only very few instruments are provided in order to comply with this demand. In a number of interviews with officials of Chinese-German joint ventures only few of them admitted to have problems with balancing their accounts, while the majority stated to earn a surplus. |
