Abstract: | There has been seen some extraordinary changes in the financial world in the last few years, not least in the so-called Third World. In 1992, for the first time for many years, the flow of private capital to developing countries exceeded official flows, and by a wide margin - $103 billion private to $5 billion official. In 1993 they did so again by $113 to $63 billion. And in both years the private numbers are higher if secondary market purchases of securities are included. |
