| Abstract: | This month's annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and of the World Bank, in Madrid, are supposed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the so-called Bretton Woods twins. Instead they are more likely to concentrate on remedying what is supposed to be a mid-life crisis in the two institutions but which, in reality, is a wider failure of international co-operation. The G-7 has its knives out ready to perform surgery on both the IMF and the Bank. |
