Abstract:Jaak Kangilaski, an Estonian enthusiast of Norway, has drawn interesting parallels between the estonian and Norwegian political spectrums. Using this and other analyses, the article highlights some political peculiarities of the Baltic states. During the restoration of independence, a number of political parties cropped up in estonia, bearing names similar to those in the Scandinavian countries, including Norway. Economic reform in Estonia can obviously continue under the rule of widely different combinations of political forces.
