Abstract:Capital investment is urgently needed in Latvie to help the country overcome its current industrial crisis. Public investment now makes up only 1,2% of the country's GDP and even less comes from the private sector. One of the Latvian government's top priorities is to attract foreign capital as investments or credits, since domestic capital cannot meet the demand. A major influx of capital would stimulate economic growth, promote the manufacture of internationally competitive products and upgrade as well as restructure the national economy.
