| Abstract: | By using Baumol's regression model this paper analyzes briefly the results of observation of the courses of economic growth in different areas in China since the 1950s and draws the following conclusions:Because of the restraints of economic system, technological level and natural condition, which different areas are faced with in the course of economic growth, economic growth rate and the original economic level present negative correlation and convergence relationship is localized that is, there exist negative correlation and convergence relationship within the eastern, central and western areas. As far as the the whole nation is concerned, the above relationships are not significant in the course of long-term economic growth. |
