Abstract:The national accounting system of Hong Kong was established with the economic development of Hong Kong itself. So it was not until the late 1960s that most of the economic indicators of the system began to be perfected. After the long-time comparative analysis, the statistics division of the Hong Kong government began to use two kinds of accounting methods which are still used at present. One is "outlay method" which was used in 1973 while the other is "production method" which was used in 1980. The first one is a method reflecting the production scale of final products at the angle of final use. The second one uses the concept of "added value" which is obtained after deducting the intermediate input in the product value of a production unit.
