| Abstract: | Cooperative venture, joint venture and wholly foreign-owned venture are three basic modes of foreign direct investment in China. They can be divided into three stages:1. In the first half of the 1980s, the leading mode of utilizing foreign direct investment in China was cooperative venture. 2.After the mid 1980s, the mode had changed in structure. The proportion of sino-foreign-funded enterprises rose apparently and became the main form of foreign direct investment. 3.After the mid 1990s, foreign businesses have realized the key transfer of direct investment mode through merger, and capital and share increase and the proportion of wholly foreign-owned venture and the ventures with foreign business holding the majority stake tends to rise. |
