| Abstract: | Greater competition and forthcoming legislation will bring about major changes in the traditional role of building society managers in UK. After an examination of the nature and potential pitfalls involved in management development in building societies,the concept of organizational culture is proposed as a useful device for highlighting the kind of changes and channelling of effort required for their achievement. Some aspects of the current and desired culture of the building societies is also described. |
