Abstract: | This article uses a case study approach to gain a better understanding of identity work, self-identity and social-identities. The analysis combines ethnographic, autobiographical and interview research material from two managersÂ’ identity work and the part played in this by their involvement in one specific organization in particular context. According to the author it is important to understand that broader institutional structures and historical circumstances have an effect on personal troubles. The author introduces a three-step model to analyze identity aspects of employment, management and organizations in general. |
