| Abstract: | Any great culture can show up a parallel manifestation of the tragic and of the comic. In Russian classicist literature Gogol's comic oeuvre should be considered the pair of the dramatic Pushkin phenomenon. Gogol is believed to be the first writer of his time who presented the invincibility of contemporary realities through the "difficult phenomenon of laughter". His "Nos" is the triumph of humour over the idyll of social pretentiousness. |
