| Abstract: | The dual notion of paradise/negative paradise is reproduced in contrastive paradigms of description where every term is annihilated by its antonym. Orientation on the mimetic reconstruction of the protolanguage checks the effectiveness of communication by shifting emphasis on the poetical function of speech. At the time when the image of waterfall was introduced into literary thinking in the l8th century it was already pointing towards a new approach to symbols and to a new understanding of poetic speech fully explored in the literature of the late l9th-20th centuries. |
