| Abstract: | The dialogue of Bodhicaryavatara is between intellectuality and emotionality. This is particularly evident in Chapter 9. The preceding chapters contain an intellectual analysis which prepares the ground for enhancing positive emotions and overcoming negative ones. Santideva, the 7th-8th century Buddhist author of Bodhicaryavatara claimed that it reflected general features of the human psyche and therefore is of universal importance. |
