| Abstract: | Literary narrations of battles are dialogues where the main opposition of the plot enables authors to build in other subtle and abstract oppositions. The article reveals a dialogue between the following oppositions in the "Lay of Igor's campaign":the present vs.the past; the creative method of the author vs. other methods; the individual vs. the rest of the world and nature; Russians vs. Polovcians; darkness vs. light; grief vs. merriment. |
