| Abstract: | Shpet's article was written in l929 and was meant for a dictionary of aesthetical terms. Literature is defined as having a special cultural status since it is the expression of social identity whereas philosophy is only the criticism of consciousness, science reflects a cognitive activity, fine arts are a mere creative framework for reflection of existing phenomena and consciousness itself can only reflect abstract phenomena. |
