| Abstract: | This article charts the developments leading to the implementation of third-party registration of quality systems and its subsequent effect om Malaysian industry. It examines the launch of the Quality System Assessment and Registration Scheme in 1987, and the adoption of ISO 9000 standards. The author concludes that the rapid increase in third-party registration activity has improved quality in Malaysian industry. |
