Abstract:This article aims to find out what the best geographic scale for closing the loop of heterogenous waste materials is. To achive its objective, the paper analyses the location and material flows of various recycling, remanufacturing, recycling manufacturing and waste treatment enterprises in Texas. The findings of the study indicate that due to their ubiquitous nature these firms operate successfully within the whole settlement hierarchy, and no obviously superior scale for the organizing of loop closing exists.
