| Abstract: | The composition of a plot, even in the case of great authors is not the fruit of their free imagination but rather a means created by the nature of the plot. Motifs are extended verbal images which determine the nature of the plot. The plot comprises a number of parallel motifs interpreted differently but subordinated to a single main image. These assertions are supported by a comparative analysis of the plots and motifs of literary works including those by Lermontov and Calderon. |
