Abstract: | For innovation, creative collaborations crossing disciplinary boundaries are essential. However, in forming new collaborations, there are faced challenges. It is suggested by empirical and anecdotal evidence that the common formats of brainstorming (herein as: br-strng.) and free-form networking are insufficient for enabling such co-operation to form. This study presents a potential solution called speedstorming (herein as: sp-strng.), a pair-wise method of creative interaction resembling the round-robin 'speeddating' technique. Based on a comparison of sp-strng. and br-strng., it is suggested that ideas from sp-strng. were more technically specialized and that sp-strng. participants were more certain in their assessments of the collaborative potential of others. |
