Abstract:The article focuses on interviewing as a data collecting method and also how the response behaviour occurs when the interviewer is present compared to different methods. Three developments have influenced interviewing activity: decreasing response rates, higher interviewing costs, and the growing awareness that the respondents need to be treated like real customers. These changes have created new ways of sampling data. There is a shift from CATI/CAPI to CASI. Moreover, the study shows that the presence or absence of an interviewer seems to influence the interviewees.
