Abstract: | U.S. business schools (hereafter as: b-schls.) dominate the b-schl. landscape, especially for the MBA degree. Due to this, b-schls. also elsewehere imitate the U.S. schools as a business education model. However, U.S. b-schls. face a number of problems. This study documents some of the problems confronting U.S. b-schls. showing the number of arising from a combination of a market-like orientation to education coupled with an absence of a professional ethos. There are some lessons for educational organizations both in the U.S. and elsewhere interested from the U.S. experience. |
