Abstract:This article analyses the work of Kurt Lewin, who lead the theory and practice of change management for over 40 years. However, during the two last decades his work has attracted criticism. The objective of this article is to speak up for Lewin's work by describing his background and beliefs, and by exploring his theories. Then a brief summary of the major developments in the field of organizational change since Lewin's death is presented. That in turn leads to examination of the main criticism pointed at Lewin's work.
