Abstract: | The notion of `community-of-practice´ refers to tight groups that have been practising together long enough to develop into a uniform community with relationships of mutuality and shared understandings. This paper presents the concept of `collectivity-of-practice´ which better represents groups in temporary or project organizations. They consist of diversely skilled individuals who have not met before and who have to carry out a specific task within certain time and cost limits. Their shared knowledge and understandings are lesser and they tend to become less well-developed groups. |
