| Abstract: | The author develops a prescriptive model of entrepreneurial search and discovery, which operationalizes constrained systematic search. The author suggests that this approach appears to be superior to the alertness perspective in the number as well as the wealth-creating potential of opportunities that it can assist entrepreneurs to discover. This study indicates how entrepreneurs can enhance their search effectiveness by systematically limiting their searching to known domains, which the author elaborates prescriptively. In the end the author discusses the implications of the approach for researchers, educators and entrepreneurs. |
