Abstract:Based on a 1998 rating of junior managers and professionals from 17 countries and regions concerning the importance of a number of personal goals (here as: p-gls.) for their country's successful business leaders, dominant goals (as: d-gls.) were growth, continuity, short-term profits and personal wealth across countries. However, goal profiles (as: g-prfs.) differed among countries. The U.S. profile revealed the most extreme stress on growth, personal wealth, and short-term results, predicting the 2008 economic crash. A new order is bound to emerge, less dominated by the USA. G-prfs. for the emerging economies of Brazil, China, India and Germany are shown to predict where the new world order may differ from the old one.
