Abstract:Knowledge-sharing has often been analysed by one-shot game models. Reviewing the literature, this paper deals with five assumptions, that is, the assumption of 1. homogeneity of knowledge, 2. one-shot solutions, 3. knowledge as value, 4. knowledge as the only instrument for influencing the payouts, and 5. deterministic profits from negotiation results. This paper proposes a more realistic game-theoretical model for analyzing knowledge-sharing, based on alternative assumptions. This model may help in establishing new firms based on existing knowledge owned by companies and their employees.
